SmartStix™ I/O - 4 Analog Inputs (+/-10V, +/-20mA) 14-bit resolution + 2 Analog Outputs (+/-10V, +/-20mA) 14-bit resolution Channel-by-Channel voltage/current selection for all channels

SmartStix™ I/O
SmartStix™ I/O is a terminal-block style I/O designed for use with the the XL series Operator Control Station (OCS). It can be used to expand the I/O capacity of any OCS, and it is very cost effective as remote I/O. SmartStix I/O connects to any OCS CsCAN™ network port to provide the best I/O selection for the application. And, output modules feature Electronic Short-Circuit Protection (ESCP).
8 Analog Inputs (+/-10V, +/-20mA) 14-bit resolution + 4 Analog Outputs (+/-10V, +/-20mA) 14-bit resolution. Channel-by-Channel voltage/current selection for all channels. For CsCAN with removable field terminals.

Features:
  • Compact Size
  • Fast Response Times
  • Easy to Configure
  • Din-Rail Mountable

The I/O for OCS and other Fieldbus Systems
SmartStix I/O is a terminal-block style I/O for the Operator Control Station (OCS). It can be used to expand the I/O capacity of any OCS and is very cost effective as a remote digital I/O. Because SmartStix I/O connects to any OCS CsCAN network port, it can be combined with SmartStack I/O to provide the best I/O selection for the application.
Compact, DIN-rail Mounted, Removable Terminal Strip
SmartStix I/O is extremely compact, providing 16 and 32 point digital I/O in a package only 39mm (1.5") deep and a footprint of 50 x 110 mm (2"H x 4.5"W) or 50 x 177mm (2"H x 7"W). With its small footprint, SmartStix I/O takes up very little panel space whether located in the main control panel or tucked away in a remote location. SmartStix I/O has a barrier style terminal strip and can be mounted on a DIN-rail. The terminal Strip is removable leaving the wiring intact for easy field servicing. Profibus and Devicenet Versions - complete with Connection Plugs
Smartstix is also available in Profibus and Devicenet versions for connection to other controllers, popular fieldbus systems and comes complete with connection plugs.
Simple Control via the TIU Operator Interface
Smartstix also connects to CsCAN versions of our powerfull Operator Interface - the TIU range. This allows you to control the smartsix via the TIU's Script Language without the need for a PLC creating a most cost effective system.
Expands I/O Capacity, Local or Remote
From the miniOCS* to the Colour-Touchscreen OCS, SmartStix I/O easily expands the digital I/O capacity of any OCS utilising the CsCAN network port available with every model. It is especially cost-effective when added to a MiniOCS. SmartStix I/O offers fast response times without sacrificing robustness, with no need for a costly i/O interface unit. In addition to its peer-to-peer capabilities, CsCAN is used as a highly efficient method of distributing SmartStix I/O up to 1.5 km (6000** feet) away.
Easy to Setup - Easy to configure
Time and complexity to configure most Remote I/O systems is a drawback. SmartStix I/O greatly reduces setup time. Just assign a unique IE to the I/O module using the integrated rotary switches, connect a 5-wire shielded cable and add a single, simple finction block to your Cscape control program. You'll be up and running in no time.
